Natural Energy – Food For Life
"In January of 2009, in preparation for my daughter's wedding June 27th, I mentioned to Diane LaCourse (my very patient and truly awesome trainer of nearly 10 years!) that I really needed to focus on diet and exercise and lose some weight in the next few months. And although everyone thought that I "looked fine" (!), I knew my energy level was not where it should be due to extra pounds from not eating the most nutritious or appropriate amounts of foods.
Enter Tara Lucier! How fortunate was I that Tara was interested in cooking for some of Diane's clients! Through a couple of emails, phone calls and consultations, Tara and I decided on some fabulous meals, while Diane and Tara coordinated the calories, carbs and proteins necessary for my substenance and weight loss. I could not have asked for a better team! By the end of May I was fifteen pounds lighter and more energetic -- not to mention healthier and happier!
Tara's meal preparation and packaging is fantastic! My favorites: chicken and spinach quesadillas (hide them from any visiting children... okay... share them if they insist!); turkey chili (fabulous flavor and very filling, especially over a baked half sweet potato!); mango chicken with beans and quinoa (I love that stuff!); vegetable and lentil stew (healthy never tasted so good!). Tara usually prepares 4 different meals for me with 3-4 servings each which I freeze and take out as needed. I truly could not have achieved my goal without her! Thank you Tara, for helping me realize that portion control and good nutrition are necessary for any serious weight loss!"

"I have been training with Diane for years. I decided to try a few sessions with her after joining a large gym. I was discouraged with the results I was getting with the hours spent in the aerobics/fitness classes. I started with 4 sessions over two weeks and quickly realized how much I had to learn about what getting into shape really meant. I ventured out into the weight training room on my own with a bit of confidence under my belt, but continued training with Diane too. Diane also provided a few personalized nutrition counseling sessions and in just a few months I saw the results I wanted!
Diane's "no excuses" philosophy has helped me stay on track. When I had to travel frequently for work, she showed me exercises I could do using the minimal equipment that hotel fitness rooms offer. When I injured myself playing sports and thought "I can't work out now", she showed me how to work around the injured muscle. And, even during a training session when I just felt totally fatigued, Diane would give me just enough recovery time and then kick me in the butt.
I now have a stack of weight training record cards an inch thick that remind me what I have accomplished over the years. The cards help me workout on my own. They remind me of the variety of ways a muscle can be worked so that I don't get bored. The cards document my progress so I know exactly what weight to use the next time I do an exercise and remind me how to do the exercise with proper form. Most importantly, the training cards help me set new goals and stay motivated.
